Neulasta shot

Pain is temporary, quitting lasts forever

Josh got the neulasta shot on Wednesday. It’s supposed to bring his WBC count back up closer to normal so he won’t be at such a high risk for infection which is really important since I work in an er. Wednesday was also supposed to be my first day back at work since last Thursday, notice I said supposed to be! I felt really back on Wednesday, I’ve felt bad since the day Josh got his biopsy but after an ultrasound and CT they didn’t really know what was wrong. I finally decided that I’d had enough, if it was nerves I needed something for it, if it wasn’t nerves I needed to find out what it was so I made me a doctors appointment. The quickest appointment they had was next Monday or Tuesday. My boss (I love her) called and got my appointment moved up to 4:30 (at this time it was about 3:30). The doctor wasn’t sure if it was nerves or not so she scheduled me for an EGD and colonoscopy for today (Friday). Yesterday was pretty rough…that stuff that you have to drink is absolutely the worst stuff I have ever drank in my life–I did find out this morning that they make pills that you can take but they cost like $50….next time I will be getting the pills no matter how much they cost!

Today was interesting to say the least. Josh had an appointment for chemo at 9:30 and I had to be at the hospital at 9:15. His grandparents took him and my dad took me. This was the second appointment that I missed. I felt bad for missing it but at this point I’m not doing him any good by me being sick with him so I had to go. Everything went fine with the both of us. He has several appointments in the next couple weeks but honestly I was really drugged up when he was telling me when they were so I don’t remember. I do remember him telling me that his WBC count was back up today so that is good.

The doctor for me did several biopsy’s and even gave me pictures of what she saw. I do have an ulcer. I also either have crohn’s disease or colitis, either way I should know by next Wednesday and they are both treated with medicine. Thankfully I feel pretty good this afternoon. Josh’s work brought up all this food that I was dying to have yesterday but couldn’t so I’ve been eating away this afternoon.
